PayerLenz FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about what PayerLenz does, how it differs from standard verification-of-benefits tools, and how the reimbursement benchmarking works.

What's the difference between a VOB and eligibility verification?

A verification of benefits (VOB) confirms a patient's insurance policy is active and outlines plan details like deductibles and co-pays. Eligibility verification is often used interchangeably with VOB. Neither tells you what a payer is likely to reimburse — that's what PayerLenz's benchmarking answers.

Does PayerLenz just confirm coverage, or does it estimate reimbursement too?

Both. PayerLenz's real-time eligibility check returns coverage status, deductibles, and out-of-pocket maximums the same way a standard VOB does, but it also attaches the expected out-of-network reimbursement for that payer, state, and level of care in the same result.

How accurate are PayerLenz's reimbursement benchmarks?

PayerLenz's benchmarks are estimates, not guarantees. Each benchmark carries a trust score based on the volume and recency of the claims behind it, drawn from adjudicated claims across 260+ payer groups in 21 states and growing, from a pool of 500,000+ adjudicated claims. They're built to give a realistic, data-backed range rather than a single promised number.

What data powers PayerLenz's benchmarks?

Adjudicated behavioral health claims data, contributed in part through PayerLenz's Claims Data Contribution Program. Customers can contribute de-identified claims each billing cycle to strengthen the benchmark pool, earning a discount on paid plans or free historical-search credits on the free tier.

Is PayerLenz the same company as Revenue Logic?

No. Revenue Logic is a revenue cycle management company for behavioral health, founded in June 2023. PayerLenz, founded in 2026, is Revenue Logic's first software product — a separate product built by the same company.

Do I need a credit card or contract to start?

PayerLenz's Free tier requires no credit card and includes 15 historical searches at signup, valid for 90 days, with 2 user seats. Paid plans (Essentials at $399/month, Professional at $665/month) each carry a one-time $200 setup fee.

How is PayerLenz different from a standard VOB tool like VerifyTX?

Standard VOB tools, including VerifyTX, confirm coverage and benefit details. PayerLenz does that as well, but adds a reimbursement-rate benchmark built from adjudicated claims data on top of the eligibility check — answering not just whether a patient is covered, but what the payer is actually likely to pay.

What if my payer or state isn't in PayerLenz's benchmark pool yet?

PayerLenz's benchmark pool currently covers 260+ payer groups across 21 states and is growing, drawn from 500,000+ adjudicated claims, in part through the Claims Data Contribution Program. Coverage depth varies by payer and state depending on claim volume and recency, which is why every benchmark carries a trust score rather than a flat number.
